In moments of emotional intensity, the reoccurring visualization of the fast moving waters of a river takes over my mental landscape. Like a helpful mantra, the commanding image of water running over rocks and debris has worked to assure me that life will continue in motion over its own rocks and debris. A piece of garbage dropped knowingly — or unknowingly — into a river, will never stop the flow of water. Since the onset of social isolation and Covid-19, there have been many moments that I have closed my eyes and I have seen a river. There is no debris large enough to stop this flow of movement.
After months of ongoing intensity I found myself alone with my love at the base of a waterfall. The strength of the flow of water was incredible. The energy of ongoing movement was electrifying. I could barely contain tears of joy, pain, fear, ecstasy. I placed my body into the slipstream and felt the exact energetic power of ongoing movement that is with us always.
When you wear this scarf, I hope that you will be reminded of the impermanence of difficult emotions. The palpable energy of movement in our lives that never ceases, that never sticks around, or finds itself permanently blocked by debris. That you can place your body into the slipstream of your own life and trust in its ever moving waters.
