Resin Art

Saturdays – April 15th to May 6th
12PM to 2PM

Resin Art is a fun, fascinating 4-week course for students aged 11 to 16 years, which explores the basics of two-part and UV resin casting. Resin is a wonderful medium for suspending objects in three-dimensional form to capture and emphasize narrative aspects.

The course includes all materials and equipment.

*Please note that due to the required curing of the deep-pour project, students are highly encouraged to be available to attend all four classes, otherwise they might not complete their skull.

Workshop Details

The course will centre around deep-pour casting a resin skull utilizing The Lyceum’s vast array of man-made and organic materials or small ornaments from students’ own collections. We will also learn how to cast small functional pieces like ring dishes, keepsake boxes and small jewellery items. Artist in Residence Quincy Raby will introduce students to mixed-media art pieces on cradleboard using two-part and UV resin pours. Students will be invited to show their works at the annual Lyceum Workshop Art Show later in the spring.
